Supersymmetry-Breaking Models of Inflation
We consider dynamical models of supersymmetry breaking which naturally incorporate cosmological inflation. The inflaton plays an inevitable role in dynamical SUSY breaking and the hierarchical scales of inflation and SUSY breaking are simultaneously realized through a single dynamics.
متن کاملQCD Sum Rules and Chiral Symmetry Breaking
We investigate, in the context of QCD sum rules, the role of Goldstone bosons arising from chiral symmetry breaking, especially on the need of matching the world of hadrons to that of some effective chiral quark theory. We describe how such matching yields predictions on induced condensates which reproduce the observed value of the strong πN N coupling constant. Our result indicate that the obs...
متن کاملSupersymmetry breaking in M-theory and quantization rules
We analyze in detail supersymmetry breaking by compactification of the fifth dimension in M-theory in the compactification pattern 11d → 5d → 4d and find that a superpotential is generated for the complex fields coming from 5d hypermultiplets, namely the dilaton S and the complex structure moduli. Using general arguments it is shown that these fields are always stabilized such that they don’t c...
متن کاملSpectral Sum Rules and Selberg's Integral Formula
Using Selberg's integral formula we derive all Leutwyler-Smilga type sum rules for one and two flavors, and for each of the three chiral random matrix ensembles. In agreement with arguments from effective field theory, all sum rules for N f = 1 coincide for the three ensembles. The connection between spectral correlations and the low-energy effective partition function is discussed.
متن کاملDuality violations and spectral sum rules
We study the issue of duality violations in the V V −AA vacuum polarization function in the chiral limit. This is done with the help of a model with an expansion in inverse powers of the number of colors, Nc, allowing us to consider resonances with a finite width. Due to these duality violations, the Operator Product Expansion (OPE) and the moments of the spectral function (e.g. the Weinberg su...
